Excellent experience all around starting with Mr. Bass, who came to the house for initial inspection and estimate, to the concrete crew whose team- leader ensured excellent cosmetic details and then finally the install crew led by Mr. Michael. The delivered product is great quality, the after installation customer follow up ensured that I was happy and that any trivial details not to my satisfaction were adressed promptly. After dealing with the horrible experience of the failure of traditional “sandbags” and catastrophic flooding, I feel much better prepared for upcoming hurricane seasons. I have Peace of Mind!! After my home was destroyed by Hurricane Helene with the floodwaters and being displaced for 9 months and having to rebuild my home. I started researching the flood barriers to prevent this again. Had 4 companies come out and Lee Bass from Dam it Defense felt to me the most knowledgeable and trustworthy. He put me at ease and did not pressure me, he answered all of my concerns and went as far as to arrange a meeting (my request) for me to see the product installed on a home and I could ask more questions! My home was flooded during the September 2024 hurricane events in Florida. We had to completely remove and renovate the lower level of our home, which has been a nightmare. I was approached by Lee Bass, a Dam It Defense representative, who told me about their product. I decided to move forward and purchase their flood defense product as insurance against future flood damage. They kept me informed about the progress of my project while I was awaiting final installation.  Once my home was ready for final installation, the process only took a couple days. Their concrete team removed the pavers around my sliding doors to install footers to create a tight seal. The installation team was quick and efficient. I how have the barrier brackets permanently fixed to all of my doorways around my home, and they almost blend in with the normal decor of the home. I plan on painting them the same color to have them blend even further. Here's the deal breaker with Dam It Defense versus everyone else... the service! Lee and his team not only installed the unit in a few hours but they gave me a tutorial afterwards with options on set up and storage. More importantly the product is visually and virtually superior. Lee, Matt and John did a fantastic job! They worked with me and explained every step of the process and how these flood gates work to protect the home. Great communication and attention to detail all around. After being taken out by Helene and a very lengthy rebuild, we found Dam It Defense to be the prevention method that worked best for our coastal home on LBK. Clay was great through the whole process - quotes, demonstration and explanations.  The fact that the developers and owners were motivated by their own experiences with Helene and the flood damage, as well as the products resistance to salt water, gave us an extra layer of confidence.  The installation crew was great and Michael followed up a number of times - even on his day off. Being part time residents, the storage and installation option for pending storms saves flights back and forth to storm prep. While we hope to never experience this again and is the one product I hope I never have to use, I’m thankful that it serves as  an extra layer of protection and provides some peace of mind.
